In a few words
Safran Nacelles is one of the world's two main integrators of aircraft engine nacelle systems. With more than 22,000 nacelles and hardware components in service – logging more than 140,000 daily flight hours – Safran Nacelles proposes nacelle systems for a full range of aircraft. Its products are used on regional jets, business jets and commercial aircraft with more than 100 seats for medium- and long-range travel.
Safran Nacelles designs, integrates and ensures customer support and services for aircraft engine nacelle systems. The know-how of the Safran Nacelles personnel and its unique technological lead means that Safran Nacelles can integrate all the nacelle systems components and thus optimize the aircraft propulsion systems.
Safran Nacelles is at the interface between the aircraft manufacturer, engine manufacturer and the airline operator. The company's expertise – backed by the resources of its Safran parent company – allows Safran Nacelles to propose unique solutions: nacelle systems which are lighter – thanks to the use of a high proportion of composite materials or metal alloys – quieter, smarter, more electric and easier to maintain.
Key programs & programs in development
The 4,000 men and women working for Safran Nacelles put their passion at the service of customers.
Through their expertise and their know-how, the company has developed engine nacelle systems used on engines that power many jetliners. This includes CFM International's LEAP-1A on the Airbus A320neo; the LEAP-1C engine for COMAC's C919, and Rolls-Royce's Trent 7000 on the Airbus A330neo. Safran Nacelles is the only nacelle systems integrator for both engine types offered on the Airbus A380 (Rolls-Royce's Trent 900, and the Engine Alliance GP7200). Safran Nacelles also produces titanium nozzles for the GE Aviation GE9X powerplants on Boeing's 777X jetliner.
In the business aviation sector, Safran Nacelles provides nacelle system hardware for numerous aircraft types, including the complete nacelle for Rolls-Royce Pearl 700 turbofan engines that power Gulfstream Aviation's G700 business jet; and the GE PassportTM engine's full nacelle (in the Nexcelle joint venture with Middle River Aircraft Systems) on Bombardier's Global 7500.
Safran Nacelles meets the needs of customers and operators with sites located around the globe.
These sites carry out the design, engineering, production, certification and integration of nacelle systems, along with providing support and services to the various Safran Nacelles product operators in the world.
Safran Nacelles has set up a worldwide network through the creation of subsidiaries and shared companies to be in close proximity to its aircraft manufacturer, engine manufacturer and operator customers.
The Safran Nacelles head office is located in Le Havre, in France. The company also has industrial facilities in the United Kingdom, Germany, Morocco, Russia and the United States; as well as the joint ventures of SAVI Nacelles in China and Nexcelle in the U.S.
For customer service and support, Safran Nacelles also has the resources of its AMES joint venture in the United Arab Emirates, along with the company's subsidiaries (Safran Nacelles Pont Audemer in France, as well as Safran Nacelles Services Americas in the United States, and partners in China and Singapore – plus its network of representatives). This enables Safran Nacelles bring its service offerings to customers throughout the world.

Safran Nacelles' high-tech expertise meets the strictest certification standards in force in the aerospace industry in terms of safety, reliability, maturity and performance follow-up.
As a major producer of hardware for aircraft, Safran Nacelles is approved to operate within the framework of European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) airworthiness authority's Part 21 and Part 145 regulations.
The company also complies with the AS/EN 9100 quality management standard across all its activities, whether this be finance, human resources, information technology or program management.
In line with the Safran quality policy, Safran Nacelles continuously seeks to improve its processes, its organization, its tools and its skills and ensures the highest quality level for its products - components, structures and systems - throughout their operational lifecycle, from the initial proposal to development, production, customer delivery and through-life support.
Health, Safety and Environment
Safran Nacelles' research efforts are equally embodied in the anticipation and prevention of work hazards and the reduction in the environmental footprint of its products and activities as in technological performance.
Health, safety, accessibility
One of Safran Nacelles' major responsibilities is to ensure the health and safety of its employees. Every aspect of production at the company's various sites is regularly audited with the goal of identifying any potential risks arising from materials or procedures and eliminating them. All the production-related safety procedures are also audited each month during regular inspections.
Accessibility is one of the concerns of the Safran Nacelles teams who adapt work stations to employees with disabilities.
Environmental goals driving innovation
Safran Nacelles nacelle systems play an essential role in the reduction of the environmental footprint of the aircraft on which they are installed. More aerodynamic and lighter - with the use of composite materials - the nacelle systems lower an aircraft's fuel consumption and participate in reducing air pollution emissions. The acoustic treatment applied to the nacelle systems contribute to the reduction in noise emissions.
Two major cooperative efforts play a key role in Safran Nacelles' environmental approach: the ACARE-based CleanSky European collaborative project; and French investments for future aircraft programs supported by the French government's Strategic Committee for Civil Aviation Research (CORAC).
Safran Nacelles' various sites are equally concerned by environmental performance: as part of the Safran HSE program, Safran Nacelles adheres to the environmental protection rules based on the ISO 14001 standard and is subject to regular, strict audits.
