U.K.-based Aircelle Ltd., which is one of the primary Aircelle industrial facilities, has announced the signing of a major deal with Velocity Composites – a company specialized in composites manufacturing that also is located in the northwest English city of Burnley at Lancaster county.
Under terms of the five-year agreement, Velocity Composites will provide engineered structural and consumable material kits, enabling Aircelle to achieve savings on material costs and improve productivity for the nacelle components it builds.
"Velocity has worked with Aircelle since its formation, and this deal demonstrates both how far the company has progressed, as well as our confidence in their processes," said Stéphane Cueille, the Managing Director of Aircelle Ltd.
The partnership with Aircelle is a significant milestone in the growth of Velocity Composites. Founded with Aircelle's support as a three-person business in 2007, Velocity now employs 85 people at a 32,000 sq. ft. site and expects its regional workforce to exceed 100 early in 2015, along with a second site in the south of England.
"Aircelle's support has been critical to our growth, and we're privileged to work with such a world-class business," Chris Banks, Velocity Composites' Operations Director, added. "We're continuing to grow, and this means we're creating high quality well-paid jobs for people in east Lancashire."
