Nacelle systems for regional aircraft

Safran Nacelles is one of the main integrators of aircraft engine nacelle systems in the world. On the regional aviation market for which Safran Nacelles has notably developed new thrust reverser concepts (PERT® and Butterfly), Safran Nacelles is the partner of the main aircraft manufacturers, Sukhoï and Embraer.

MHD nacelle systems (MHD is a joint venture owned 50/50 by Safran Nacelles and Alinea Aermacchi), equip the Embraer E170/175 powered by two GE CF34-8 engines.

The Embraer E170/175 MHD nacelle systems incorporate a cascade thrust reverser which benefits from composite acoustic panels and a fixed internal structure of carbon composite.

The Embraer 170, whose program was started in 1999, came into service in March 2004 while the Embraer 175 came into service in July 2005.
