Safran Nacelles is one of the main integrators of aircraft engine nacelle systems in the world. On the regional aviation market for which Safran Nacelles has notably developed new thrust reverser concepts (PERT® and Butterfly), Safran Nacelles is the partner of the main aircraft manufacturers, Sukhoï and Embraer.
Sukhoï Superjet 100 Nacelle Systems
Safran Nacelles nacelle systems equip the Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC) Superjet 100 powered by two Powerjet SaM146 engines. (Powerjet is a joint venture owned 50/50 by Safran Aircraft Engines and NPO Saturn).
The Superjet 100 Safran Nacelles nacelle systems, composed of a high proportion of composite materials, incorporate a Butterfly two-door type thrust reverser and participate in the reduced noise footprint of the aircraft's propulsion system with an acoustic treatment applied to all its components and notably, its composite DDOF (Double Degree Of Freedom) air inlet.
The first test flight of the Superjet 100, whose program was started in April 2004, took place in May 2008. The aircraft came into service in 2013.
